Archaeology

Tom Origer & Associates conducts archaeological studies including identification (survey), testing (evaluation), and data recovery at archaeological sites.

Survey activities are designed to identify and gather information about cultural resources in an area. Survey entails archival research as well as field inspection.

Evaluation is a process of determining if the resources discovered during the identification process meet legal criteria for significance and therefore require preservation or protection.

Data Recovery is used to preserve the information contained within an archaeological site that can not be preserved in place because a proposed action will have an adverse effect.
